The Challenge:

Any E-Business Suite implementation, even where only a few modules are being used, requires hundreds, sometimes thousands, of configuration settings to be set to ensure that it meets the needs of the business, IT and audit. These setups must be effectively managed across multiple environments; all setups being accurately repeated in each environment where they are applied. This presents a major challenge as most setup must be done manually in each environment; with a high risk of manual error and little ability for comparison except to do so manually.

Automated solutions provided by Oracle, such as iSetup and Generic Loader (FNDLOAD), are inflexible and cover only a small fraction of the application setup areas. Public APIs to assist with migration are available for fewer than 5% of setup steps in the E-Business Suite.
